New York - School Director T. A. Taylor just finished shooting the CBS mini-series COMANCHE MOON in New Mexico. This prequel to LONESOME DOVE was written by author Larry McMurtry who with his writing partner Diana Ossana, received the Oscar for Best Screenplay for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. Mr. McMurtry and Ms. Ossanna are executive producers and have written the screenplay for this 3 part mini-series scheduled to air this fall. Simon Wincer, who directed LONESOME DOVE returns to direct COMANCHE MOON which stars Val Kilmer, Karl Urban and Steve Zahn . T. A. plays Major Featherstonaugh a Yankee cavalry officer who comes to Texas to help bring the Comanche's under control and clashes with the Texas Rangers as to the proper procedures for dealing with “red savages”.
