The 8-Week Evening Acting Workshops
Today’s demand of the entertainment industry for moving and realistic performance - particularly film’s demand for absolute authenticity - creates the need for highly skilled actors. For those who wish to meet this requirement while pursuing their acting career, but have a limited schedule, KD Studio offers the 8-Week Evening Acting Workshops.These workshops are hands-on, cutting-edge explorations into the art of acting that give students a variety of experiences needed for acquiring real skills for the real world. Designed for beginning actors as well as those with performing experience, the evening courses allow students to go beyond the basics and prepare themselves for a professional career.
Introduction to Acting
This class covers fundamentals of character development through identifying objectives, obstacles, and tactics as you study scenes. Emphasis is placed on developing your listening, interacting and reacting skills while you work with your scene partners.

Camera Acting Technique
Prerequisite – Introduction to Acting or approval of Admissions Dept.
Specialized techniques of acting for the camera form the basis of this workshop. Course work includes hitting marks, continuity, staying in frame, audition technique, practicing of concepts and techniques for camera set-ups and coverage.

Acting Workshop
Prerequisite – Introduction to Acting or approval of Admissions Dept.
Through improvisation, script analysis and emotional preparation you work on character development, transitions, motivation and listening. Emphasis is placed on being honest and "Getting out of your head."

Introduction to Television Commercials
Designed to help you in all aspects of making television commercials. Begins with a discussion of technical terms, scoring copy, copy interpretation and introduction to camera techniques. Using a variety of commercial situations, not only will you be able to tape, but watch yourself under the guidance of an instructor and begin to use the rudimentary skills of acting for the camera.

Television Commercial Workshop
Course teaches all the aspects of Television commercial work. Throughout each class students are videotaped as they rehearse a wide variety of commercial copy from slice of life, bite and smile, spokesperson to industrials. Course work will include cold reading and audition techniques for the camera.

Voice-Over Radio Commercials
Voice work is perhaps the most lucrative performance work available to actors. Learn the ropes of acting "on mic" with a professional engineer and an established voice actor/coach as guides. Course work includes training for a spokesperson, narrator and character roles. Learn about DFW market, the audition, the job, the follow-up, self promotion, the unions and agents. You will come away with a sample of your completed work on a disc. Maximum 10 people.

Improv Level One
KD Studio and Four Day Weekend are proud to offer this new, exciting improv training. Learn the art of improvisation from one of the longest-running shows in the Southwest. Improw your auditioning, listening and communication skills using the power of improvisation! There will be a showcase on final night of class.

Audition Technique
This class is about preparing you for auditions. It's main focus is on powerful, active choices, the kind of choices that bring you alive and allow you to attack a scene, make it yours, grab the role and do the work! From script breakdown, cold reading to owning the role from the minute you walk in door are the techniques you will be learning about. Total 8 hrs. / $125
