Proud to be a Drama Queen!

Dear Theatre Geeks, Drama Queens and Film Nerds! Hey! My name is Tiffany, and I was once in your position – a high school senior stressed about finding the perfect college and trying to figure out my path. One day, I was online searching for acting programs when I came across KD Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts. I made the drive out to Dallas from Florida, nervously auditioned for the acting program, and the rest is history. My time at KD was life – changing, I arrived for orientation nervous, afraid and without friends, and left with a… read more

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon: KD Conservatory Alumni “Bacon Numbers”

In 1994, the concept that everyone in the world is separated by no more than six degrees took a famous pop-culture turn. In April, a newsgroup thread titled “Kevin Bacon is the Center of the Universe” sprung up online. Around the same time, three college students sought entertainment during a heavy snowstorm by settling in to watch the movie Footloose, and turned the concept into the game known today as “Six Degrees of Kevin… read more

We recently had a visit from notable KD Studio alumni Travis Tedford. Although you may not recognize him now that he’s all grown up, some of his early work may ring a bell – namely, his 1994 portrayal of Spanky in the film version of The Little Rascals. Travis was born and raised in the Dallas area. He was taking the Kreative Kids 1 course at KD Studo when he was cast as Spanky in The Little Rascals. Around the same time, he also appeared in a national TV ad campaign as the Welch’s Grape Juice Spokeskid. In case you’ve… read more

Alumni Success Stories: George Eads of “CSI”

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been a powerhouse of American television for the past 12 years. The show has created two separate spinoffs (CSI: Miami and CSI: NY) and has had some high profile guest appearances over the years – like John Mayer, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift (to name a few). There are plenty of reasons to like CSI, but it’s particularly close to our hearts at KD Conservatory for one specific reason: Nick Stokes, a Level 3 CSI who just happens to be portrayed by a successful KD Conservatory alum – George Eads. George Eads’ Road to Stardom… read more
